Lamon Jim Henry Kinsey

Lamon Jim Henry Kinsey, age 82 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015.

 

Born in White County on December 23, 1932, he was a son of the late Hubert and Cora Fortenberry Kinsey. Mr. Kinsey was retired from North Georgia Technical College as the Vice President of Instructional Services. He was a longtime attendant of Macedonia United Methodist Church and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, farming, reading, and spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters.

 

Surviving are loving wife of 51 years, Joan Barron Kinsey of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Rob Whitaker of Cleveland; granddaughters, Jennifer Whitaker and Kathryn Whitaker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth & Gerald Hooper and Elsie & Jimmy Hill all of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buford & Jeanie Kinsey and Rev. Garvis & Judy Kinsey all of Cleveland; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Cleveland with Rev. Garvis Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Saturday.
