Ruby Westbrooks

Mrs. Ruby Mae Broome Westbrooks, age 88 of 8515 Fran Lyda Road, Cornelia passed away Saturday April 11, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A daughter of the late George Calloway and Lula Bell Lawrence Broome, she was born on August 6, 1926 in Banks County, Georgia. She lived most of her life in Stephens and Habersham Counties. She was employed by Pruitt Health for a number of years and was of the Holiness faith. She is preceded in by her first husband Guy Reed and her second husband Sam Westbrooks and a daughter Barbara Turner.

She is survived by three sons and daughters in law Larry Reed of Gainesville, David and Fannie Reed of Toccoa, Tommy and Darlene Reed of Toccoa, three daughters and sons in law Alice and Harold Dodd of Cornelia, Linda Pitts of Toccoa, Carolyn and Jimmy Teasley of Toccoa, one brother J.C. Broome of Hartwell, one sister Ruth Broome of Hartwell, nineteen grandchildren and a number great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Geeter Owens and the Reverend John Umberhant officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Randy Brady, Tony Brady, Ken Brady, Matt Smith, Justin Smith and Roy Broome.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday.

Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
