Lewis Melvin Dempsey Sr

Mr. Lewis Melvin Dempsey Sr. age 78 of Dahlonega passed away on April 23rd, 2015 following an extended illness.  Mr. Dempsey moved from Norcross to Dahlonega in 1978 and was a retired Army Veteran.  He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Dempsey is preceded in death by his parents Lewis John Dempsey and Martha Luegenia Beal.

Mr. Dempsey is survived by his loving wife Opal Sue Holtzclaw Dempsey; children, Luegenia Dempsey of Dahlonega, Naomi (Roy) Haynes of Dahlonega, Lewis Dempsey Jr. (Donna) of Flowery Branch, Vanessa (Gene) Satterfield of Dahlonega; grandchildren Heather Satterfield, Stephanie Satterfield, Dustin (Amanda) Satterfield, Corey Drew, and Brooke Dempsey, great-grandchild Delilah Satterfield.

Family will receive friends on Friday April 24, 2015 from 2pm to 8pm, Saturday from 4pm to 9pm, and Sunday from 10am until time of service. Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 26, 2015 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home.  Internment will follow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murrayville.
