Gloyd L. Ayres

Mr. Gloyd L. Ayers, age 79, of Stokesdale, NC died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Beacon Place.  Mr. Ayers was born in Homer, GA to the late Era Sterling and Mamie White Ayers.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Reliance Electric.

            Mr. Ayers is survived by his daughter, Sherry Wyrick of Stokesdale, NC; son, David Ayers of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Mary Edens of Raleigh, NC and Barbara Ann Ayers Hillman of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, Glenn Ayers and James Ayers both of Lavonia, GA; and one grandchild.

            Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, April 27 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Dr. Carlton Allen officiating.  Interment will follow in Webbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.
