Jerry Dean Hood

Jerry Dean Hood, age 71, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Dean is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda.  He also leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Nathan and his son and daughter in law, Jerry and Paula.  Dean is survived by four adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Martha Corinn, Grant, and Anna and his faithful companion Snoopy.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters,  Billy and Gena, Duane and Cheryl, Margie, Linda, and David as well as a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

A lifetime resident of Forsyth County, Dean was born on September 13, 1943 to Ezell and Lois Hood.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force both reserve and active duty for 6 years.  Dean had a passion for all cars.   He owned and operated Hood’s Paint and Body Shop for 40 years.  He was known for his meticulous work and his love for classic cars.  Dean was an avid classic car collector and had restored classic cars for many years.  He also was an instrumental part of Hood Racing NGQM Team operated by his son Jerry and driven by his grandsons, Matthew and Grant.  Dean loved to talk and share his love and knowledge of cars with his many, many friends and family.  Also a man of faith, Dean was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. 

Funeral Services for Dean will be held at the Chapel at Ingram’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 30^th at 11:00am with Pastors Ruel Martin, Danny Sudderth, and Nancy Meeker officiating.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 28^th from 6pm to 9pm, on Wednesday, April 29^th from 1pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 9pm, and then from 9am up until the time of service on Thursday, April 30^th.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for research.
