Coach Bill Maynard

Coach Bill Maynard, age 54, of Martin, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born October 22, 1960 in Jefferson, GA, he was a son of the late Reuben Lloyd and Elsie Louise Jones Maynard.

Coach Maynard was a beloved Teacher and Coach at Stephens County High School since 1989.  He was a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia and a devoted member of the Foothills Community Church.

Family members include his wife, Marsha Cowart Maynard; sons and daughters, Amber and Blake Young of Toccoa, Jonathan and Lyrra Maynard of Guam, Sarah and Mike Harvey of Duluth, and Joshua Maynard of Savannah; brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Marsha Maynard of Westminster; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tony Hayes of Jefferson; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Saturday, May 16, 2015 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Pastor Brian Marshall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 7pm Friday, May 15, 2015.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or to The National Kidney Foundation.
