Ronald Carl Puckett

Obituary Date: Monday, May 18, 2015

Ronald Carl Puckett went home to be with Jesus on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia after an extended illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior Carl Puckett and Ella Mae Warren Puckett and a son Michael Puckett.

He was born in 1939 in Atlanta, Ga. at Grady Hospital. He grew up in the Atlanta area.  He joined the Cobb County Fire Department and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1974 and retired in 1994.  He then moved to Homer, Georgia where he settled into his retirement as a cattle farmer. He was an avid motorcyclist and traveled on his bike all over the United States.  He founded a motorcycle ministry “The Hub” in Cleveland, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Puckett; four children, Ronnie, Ginger, Karen, and Traci ; eight step-children, Dwight, Kristy, Mary, Duane, Lucy, Darin, Heidi, and Dallas. He also was blessed with many grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2015, at Alexander Funeral Home in Cleveland from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

A celebration of life service will be held at Alexander’s Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Center Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 Elrod Road, Helen, GA 30545.
