Ronnie Lee Rider

Ronnie Lee Rider, age 62, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Northside Forsyth Hospital.

Ronnie lived most of his life in Lumpkin County. At the time of his death he had been employed at Koyo Bearings Plant in Dahlonega for the past 35 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Ronnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed golf and many years of sports with his children.

Ronnie was the son of the late Walter Lee Rider and Merle Greenway Garrett. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Leonard Rider; and grandmother, Susie Rider, who helped raise him; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Ellene Crow.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Crow Rider, Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Amanda Rider, Sugar Hill, GA, Reggie and Whitney Rider, Clayton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Andrew Johnson, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Ryder Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Kennedy Rider, and Payton Rider; stepfather, Claude Garrett, Gainesville, GA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail Crowe, Cathy and Arthur Sanford. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Ronnie are scheduled for 11 AM Friday May 22, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Andy Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega, GA.

Ronnie’s grandson, Ryder Johnson will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Wednesday May 20, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM, all day on Thursday, and again on Friday until time of service.
