Raymond H. Mauldin, age 91, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015.
Mr. Mauldin was born on October 1, 1923 in Dallas County, Georgia to the late George Washington and Allie Wright Mauldin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Brown Mauldin; brothers, Carl Mauldin, Jack Mauldin, Hubert Mauldin, Herman Mauldin; half-brother, Roy Bullock; son-in-law, Ricky Armour and granddaughter, Chrissy Wilbanks. Mr. Mauldin was a member of Community Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was the secretary-treasurer for 10 years. He was a life member of Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post 7720. Mr. Mauldin was a United States Army WW II Veteran. He was a retired employee of Carwood Manufacturing with 30 years of service.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Sanford Thompson, Alto, GA, Debbie and John Sutton, Batesville, GA; daughter, Sandy Armour, Baldwin, GA; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; special friend, Jackie Trett, Alto, GA. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Robert Clark and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Grant Reeves V.F.W. Memorial Park with full military honors provided by Georgia National Guard, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 26. 2015.
