Mary Lou Davenport

Mary Lou Davenport, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Monday May 25, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born July 18, 1950 in Lumpkin County to the late Claud and Vernell Davis, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.  A homemaker at her death, Mary Lou was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Grady Davis, Bazel Davis and David Davis.

Surviving are her companion, best friend and care giver, Harold Davenport, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Randy and Julie Davenport, Dawsonville, Travis and Pam Davenport, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Karleigh Davenport, Trenton Davenport, Casen Davenport, Addison Davenport; sister, Sylvia Cagle, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters in law, Delton and Sherri Davis, Dahlonega, Marvin and Ruthie Davis, Dahlonega, Melvin Davis, Dahlonega; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 4 o’clock at Antioch Baptist Church.  Rev. Larry Stover and Rev. Ronnie Sosebee will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
