Donald O. Segraves

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Donald O. Segraves, age 84 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Thursday, June 18, 2015.  Mr. Segraves was born in Ocoee, Florida, the son of the late Oscar Wilde Segraves and the late Dorthea Klinect Segraves, was the first building inspector for Jackson County and retired from the Jackson County Planning and Development Department.  Mr. Segraves was a member of Apple Valley Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 48 years.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean Wall Segraves of Jefferson, Daughter Donna Segraves Golden Sikes and her husband Joe of Jefferson, daughter; Gayle Segraves Berryman and her husband Richard of Jefferson.  Grandchildren; Mandy Golden Cowart and her husband Joseph, Abbie Berryman and her fiancé Josh Brockman, and Austin Berryman.  Three great grandchildren; Joleigh, Emmie and Harper Cowart.  Brothers, Louis Segraves of Hogansville and Wayne Segraves of Thomaston, and sister; Marilyn Grantham of Lavonia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 20, 2015 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Clarence Cannon officiating with burial to follow in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers will be Stan Beeco, Joseph Cowart, Mitch Mitchell, Steve Looney, Steve Holbrook and Darrell Segraves.  Memorials may be made to the Apple Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 449, Jefferson, Georgia  30549.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 19, 2015, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M..
