Evelyn Ryals Barron

Evelyn Ryals Barron, age 97, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015.

Mrs. Barron was born on November 3, 1917 in Demorest, Georgia to the late Joshua C. and Cornelia Taylor Ryals. She was a member of Demorest Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, homemaker, and teacher. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John K. Barron; and son, James K. “Jim” Barron. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Barron Nix, of Clarkesville; Becky Barron Brown, of Watkinsville; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carol Barron of Clarkesville; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
