Mattie Norris Adams

Mrs. Mattie Norris Adams age 86 of Toccoa passed away Saturday August 1, 2015 at her niece’s residence.

A daughter of the late Cliff and Nancy Lee Norris, she was born in Oconee County, South Carolina on April 7, 1929 having lived most of her life in Oconee and Stephens Counties. She was retried from Coats and Clark and attended Old Toccoa Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Adams in 1985, a sister Hazel Weaver and a brother Donald Norris.

Survivors include two brothers James Norris of Westminster, South Carolina and Ray Norris of North Carolina, four sisters Vinus Day, Patsy Winters, Betty Willis and Linda Burruss all of Toccoa, a number of nieces and nephews in which one was her care giver Tammy Beasley of Lavonia.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday August 4, 2015 at 2 P.M. at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Bill Evans officiating. The family will be at her niece’s home in Lavonia and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6 P.M. til 8 P.M and noon until service time on Tuesday.

Interment will follow in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
