Betty Elrod Parks, age 82, of Murrayville, GA, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Ricky Stone and Reverend Fletcher Law will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park North Riverside Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parks was born on June 12, 1933 in Talmo, but lived most of her life in Murrayville. She worked at Parks Lumber Company for a number of years and retired to help care for her grandchildren. She loved to garden and care for her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her close friends.
Mrs. Parks is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Parks and her parents Joe and Lois Gee Elrod, and a brother Hoke Elrod.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Dawn Parks of Murrayville, Jim and Kim Parks of Murrayville; grandchildren, Brittni (Chris) Curtis, Chelsey (Kyle) Potts, Katelyn Parks, Charlie (Erin) Parks, Olivia Parks, Jake Parks, Tyler (Tori) Wiley, Courtney (Jeff) Thigpen, Brenden Jarrard and Luke Jarrard; great grandchildren, Katy Paige, McCoy, Parker, Michael Jefferson and Boyd and a sister Barbara Middlebrooks of Talmo, Ga. a number of nieces and nephews.
