George Calvin Bell

George Calvin Bell, age 66, of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015.

Born on April 23, 1949, in South Carolina, he was a son of the late George and Mary Lillie Bell.  He was formerly employed with Wayne Farms and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Clarkesville, where he served faithfully. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard work, especially mowing the lawn and also served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bell was also preceded in death by brothers, Irvin Gene Chappell and Amos Bell; sisters, Pearlie Wilson and Nancy Hughes.

Survivors include son, George Bell of Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Erica & Anthony Webb of Kansas City, Missouri; granddaughter, Auryona Webb; mother of his children, Mary Gaines of Commerce; and former wife, Amy Bell of Clarkesville.

Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Clarkesville with Pastor Ben Hawks and Evangelist Bobbie Ann Jordan officiating. All family and friends are requested to meet at the church by 12:45 pm on Saturday.
