Raymond Lee Carter

                Raymond Lee Carter, 87, of Commerce passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Alan Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

                Mr. Carter was born on February 8, 1928 in Poland, GA to the late Rufus and Annie Bell Statham Carter. He was retired from Chicopee Mills and was of Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Burniece Sue Norwood Carter.

                Mrs. Carter is survived by his son, James Jack Carter of Commerce; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Hurst of Poland, GA and Ann Umbarger of Poland; brother, Ricky Carter of Worth, CO.
