Ruby Westbrooks Martin, age 93, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Huelon Martin; son, Arthur Martin; son-in-law, David Shepherd; grandsons, Jerry Franklin Martin and Joey Brogdon; sisters, Virginia Pruitt and Christa Bruce; and brothers, Hoy Westbrooks, Kyle Westbrooks and J. W. Westbrooks. She is survived by her children; Mabel Martin Herrington, Buford, GA, Martha Martin Brogdon and husband, Rev. Harry Brogdon, Sugar Hill, GA, Teresa Martin Shepherd, Dacula, GA, Emory and Lucy Martin, Mineral Bluff, GA, Ricky Martin, Buford, GA and Victor and Carol Staton Martin, Suwanee, GA; daughter-in-law, Dianne Moore Martin, Sugar Hill, GA; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Westbrooks Higgins, Flowery Branch, GA, Kathleen Westbrooks Crowe, Lawrenceville, GA, Mardell Westbrooks Hosch, Buford, GA and Willie Westbrooks Pugh, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Frances Martin Doster, Buford, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Martin was born May 1, 1922 in Suwanee, GA and was a life-long resident of Gwinnett County, GA. She was a homemaker and best known as “Nanny Ru Ru”. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dispain and Rev. Billy Holloway officiating. The eulogy will be given by Katie Martin Pollard. Graveside service and interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA with Rev. Farrell Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
