John Owen Jones, Jr

John Owen Jones, Jr., age 81, of Cumming, GA died August 10, 2015. Born in Lynchburg, VA he was the son of the late John Owen Jones, Sr. and Elizabeth Jordan Jones.

Owen owned several business during his working years. In his long retirement he traveled in the United States and many other countries. He photographed the people living there doing the everyday things of their lives and listening to their stories. Owen was a very loving, caring, and fun father for his three children and grandchildren. They have many fond memories of some of these trips. He was a member of the Sawnee Artist Association and the Atlanta Photography Group.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Jones of Cumming, GA; son, Owen Bradley Jones of Ellijay, GA; daughters, Courtney Beth Jones and Ruthann Jones, both of Cumming, GA; sister, Elizabeth Jones Tanner of Gainesville, GA; much-loved grandchildren, Zachary Jones and Owen Quinn Jones; nieces, Allison Tanner Hawkins and Julie Tanner Butler; and nephew, Greg Bruce Tanner.

A celebration of Owen’s life to be announced at a later date.
