Chris R. Parcher

Mr. Chris R. Parcher, age 53, entered the gates of heaven to rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Chris was born March 18, 1962 in Midland, Michigan.  At age 13 he came to live in Georgia and graduated from Johnson High School in 1983.  He worked in Atlanta as a snack bar vendor for the GA Co-Op For The Blind for ten years.  He struggled with being legally blind from birth and at age 31 required spinal surgery without success and left him a quadriplegic.  Even with numerous disappointments he rarely complained.  After a steady decline this past year and not much hope for overcoming his circumstances he said “he was going to have to have a serious talk with God”.  He was a resident at Gateway Health Care in Cleveland for 22 years.

Chirs is survived by his dad and mother, Rex & Nancy Mizer of Flowery Branch; father, M. Richard Parcher of Vestaburg, Michigan; sister Jill Lee & husband Jon of Lula; stepsister Lori Nixon & husband Mike of Alma, Michigan; step-brothers, Randall Mizer & wife Pat of Commerce and Christopher Mizer & wife, Jennifer of Jefferson; and numerous nieces & nephews.

The family wants to thank the many caregivers who showed Chris love and support during his life.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland.  Father Fabio Alvarez will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date in the Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Alms, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church Outreach Ministries, Shepherd Spinal Center or Lions Lighthouse.
