Betty Mayo Buchanan

Betty Mayo Buchanan, age 82, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Clara Lee Thibdeaux Mayo; second husband, Dennis Buchanan; first husband, David Daniel Cochran; and son, David Daniel (Danny) Cochran, Jr.  She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Kirk) McGee, Wetumpka, AL; daughter, Donna Forehand, Conyers, GA; daughter-in-law, Wanda Jackson, Doraville, GA; granddaughter, Erin Cook, Tallassee, AL; granddaughter, Jamie (Jason) Melton, Clanton, AL; granddaughter, Tiffany Nicole Forehand, Conyers, GA; grandson, Joey Cochran, Doraville, GA; and four great grandchildren.  Mrs. Buchanan was born May 7, 1933 in Petal, MS.  She enjoyed volunteering and loved gardening, Braves baseball, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, GA 30518, with Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  To express condolences, please sign our online guest book at www.flaniganfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements by: Junior E.
