Mr. Jerry Wayne Sanders age 74 of Carnesville passed away Tuesday Sept. 8, 2015 at the Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Sanders was born June 5, 1941 in Powder Spring, Georgia to the late James D. & Imogene Williams Sanders. He was employed by Lockheed Martin for 31 years. He was a member of The Grove, and a member of Hollingsworth Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry Sanders.
Survivors include, his loving wife, Carolyn Sanders, son & daughter in law, Scott & Nichole Sanders, and a daughter & son in law, Jennifer & Tony Shackleford. Also four grandchildren Leighann, Ashley, Tobias and Cassidy. A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at The Grove with Pastor John Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
