Michael Wayne Paulk

Obituary Date: Saturday, September 12, 2015

Michael Wayne Paulk, beloved husband and father, passed away on September 12, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Dallas, Texas on April 22, 1945, “Mike” was the son of the late Buster and Winnie Paulk. Mike attended Abilene Christian University and was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went on to work as Vice President of Texas Bank & Trust in Dallas and was also President of the Dallas Security Dealers Association. In 1981, he moved with his family to Georgia to work with Stockholder Systems, Inc. as President of the Integrated Products Division until he retired in 1996. He then started his own business, Arcadia Properties, building and selling private residential homes. He was also a member of the Forsyth County Masonic Lodge, Creekside United Methodist Church, the Atlanta Classic T-Bird Club and the Dallas Classic Corvette Club. Mike was full of life, loved telling stories and having fun, and could find humor in any situation. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, skiing, traveling, classic cars, scuba diving, boating and living his life surrounded by family and friends on Lake Lanier in Cumming, GA. He was truly one of a kind, and he will be dearly missed.

Mike dedicated his life to his wife of 43 years, Kathy Webb Paulk; their daughters and spouses Kelli Paulk Moody and James Moody (West Simsbury, CT), Emily Paulk and Shane Winger (Athens, GA); and son Phillip Paulk (Alpharetta, GA). He leaves behind three adored grandchildren: Miles, Parker, and Griffin. He is also survived by his siblings: Iris Bishop, Linda Warner, Barbara Graham, and Stephen Paulk; beloved nephew Jeff Paulk; cousins James Bevill, Jeryl Bevill, Randy Elmore, Gary Elmore, Pam Elmore Sabens; mother-in-law Pauline Webb; and many, many other cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phil A. Paulk.

Funeral services will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a “Celebration of Life” reception on September 26, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at 4620 Luke Drive in Cumming, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mike’s honor to Creekside United Methodist Church at 673 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041.
