Janet Shook Hill

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Janet Shook Hill, age 60, of Jefferson, who passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015. Mrs. Hill was born in Richland, Virginia, a daughter to the late Hayes and Mozelle Elliott Shook. Mrs. Hill worked at Jackson County Department of Family and Children’s Services as a Caseworker and then worked in Home Healthcare. Mrs. Hill then aquired SilverLeaf Assisted Living in Athens and Snellville where she continued her passion of caring for the elderly. Mrs. Hill was also a member of the Homer United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Hill of Jefferson; sons, Jesse E. Hill of Jefferson, Michael Hill and his wife, April, of Jefferson, Robert Hill of Ila; brother, Larry Shook of Albany; sister, Sandra Henry of Dahlonega; 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Anna Hill of Jefferson; sister in law, Vicki Hill Robinson of Phoenix, AZ and brother in law, Walter Hill of Lawrenceville, GA.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Homer United Methodist Church with Rev. James McLendon officiating. The visitation will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
