Gary Eugene McDowell Sr.

Mr. Gary Eugene McDowell, Sr., age 69, of Buford passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. McDowell was born March 7, 1946 to the late John & Betty Simmons in Long Beach, California.  He was a member of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas and Vice President of Classic Soft Trim.  Mr. McDowell enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. 

Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife, Kathy McDowell of Buford; sons, Gary Eugene McDowell, Jr. and Matthew Roger McDowell both of California; step-son & wife, Mike & Tracy McNown of Austin, Texas; step-daughter & husband, Rhonda Heffron & Mike Gaynor of Maysville; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Simmons of Wisconsin; and several nieces & nephews.
