Elaine May Gordon

Elaine May Gordon, age 87, of Buford, GA passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, George Frank Hutowitz; parents, Martin and Beatrice Briggs Sylvester; and sister, Jane Dellassandro. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Elyse and Harvey Moriarty, Buford, GA; and her extended family and friends whose life she touched for many years. Miss Gordon was born September 27, 1928, in Bronx, New York. She was a former resident of New Jersey and the Bronx in New York. She was currently a resident of Huntington Court in Buford, GA for the past 10 years. In later years she was lovingly referred to as the “Mighty Miss Elaine.” She will be remembered for the love and spunk she shared with many. The world is a better place because of her, and she will be sadly and lovingly missed by many. But most of all by her daughter, Elyse Moriarty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church Building Fund In Memory of Elaine May Gordon. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Mincey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
