Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday October 23, 2015 at Oak Grove Baptist Church for Regina Nix age 61 of Gainesville. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Brian Malcolm and Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Nix passed away Tuesday October 20, 2015.
Mrs. Nix was born in Lackey, Kentucky but spent most of her life in Hall County. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Morg Smith and Louise Gibson Smith and step-son David Nix.
Survivors include husband, Jerry Nix, Gainesville, daughter, Tracie Lynn Smith, step-daughter, Tina Maniar, brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Palestine Smith, Dema, KY, Rodney and Carol Smith, Shepherdsville, KY, Rondel and Patti Smith, Hagar Hill, KY, Kenneth and Wanda Matney, Winchester, KY, Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Relena and Demetrio Tello, Gainesville, Renae Smith, Hindman, KY, Rebecca and Roy Patrick, Hindman, KY, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
