Marion Shumake Kent

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Marion Shumake Kent, age 87 of Toccoa, Georgia, formerly of Jefferson and Macon, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, November 7, 2015.  Mrs. Kent was born in Jefferson, Georgia a daughter of the late Gordon and Ollie Mae Aldridge Shumake, was a retired Sales Associate with Belk’s Department Stores and a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia.  In additioin to her parents, Mrs. Kent is preceded by her husband Marion Edward Kent, brothers; Marvin Shumake and Gordon Shumake and a sister Doris Phillips.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Kent Magee and her husband Bobby of Toccoa, son; Eddie Kent and his wife Pam of Macon, sisters; Barbara Petering of Jefferson, Ruby Duke of Cookeville, Tennessee, four grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 13, 2015 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Hillier Duke officiating with burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson, Georgia.  The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2015 11:30 – 1:00 prior to the service.
