Edna Grizzle Wilson

Edna Grizzle Wilson, 94, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015.

 

Born on January 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Thomas Grizzle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Homer W. Wilson to whom she was married for 71 years and her son, Bill Wilson.

 

Mrs. Wilson along with her husband was very active with the family poultry business and was also very active with the Georgia Poultry Foundation. Mrs. Wilson was very active and supportive of her children during their many sports activities and events. Mrs. Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.

 

Grandma Edna, always the life and light of every room. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter, joy, generosity and many other countless things and we’ll never stop missing her. We are thankful she is now in eternity, her true home.

 

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Bobby Cornett of Gainesville; sons and daughters in law, Ronnie and Celintia Wilson of Canton, Steve and Angie Wilson of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Steven and Shelly Cornett of Gainesville, Robert and Sarahlyn Cornett of Hoschton, Dr. Ron and Bonnie –Lynne Wilson of Gainesville, Ashley and Santo Morici of Easton, PA, Laura Wilson of Gainesville, Daniel and Hannah Wilson of Nashville, TN, Brittany Wilson of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren, Grace-Blythe Cornett, Naomi Cornett, Norah Cornett, Graham Cornett, Lilly-Kate Wilson, Baylor Wilson, Hartley Wilson, Santino Morici and Gianna Morici; sister Bernice Bruce of Gainesville as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 in the chapel of the First Baptist Church on Green Street. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
