Mr. William Terrell Payne, age 78 of 918 New Hope Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at his residence.
A son of the late William Henry and Anna Mae Cleveland Payne, he was born June 16, 1937 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was employed with Tugalo Construction Company as road supervisor for some 40 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Odell, Woodrow, Fred, Noah and Bruce Payne.
Survivors include his wife of the home, JoAnn Kellar Payne; three daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Pete Jaynes, Patricia and Doug Caudell and Kattie and Willie Adams all of Toccoa; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Moore, Mary Miller and Florence Carter all of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Jane Payne of Athens, Georgia; number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 11 O’clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jewell Gaines, The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and Mr. Matthew Adams officiating.
The family will be at the home on New Hope Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Matthew Adams, Barrin McFarlin, Roger Adams, Jacob Segers, Shaun Cowart and Jonathan Crump. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers, Dawn McFarlin, Melissa Adams, Michelle Segers, Jenia Cowart and Shonda Crump.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. William Terrell Payne.
