Treelis Ward Stonecypher

Treelis Ward Stonecypher, age 77 of Cornelia passed away November 23, 2015 following a brief illness. 

Born in Habersham County on June 27, 1938, Mrs. Stonecypher was the daughter of the late Noel and Bessie Poole Ward.  She was the owner and operator of Stoney’s Family Restaurant in Clarkesville.  Mrs. Stonecypher enjoyed reading, going to the beach with her sisters, and going on cruises.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Stonecypher is preceded in death by her husband Ottis Stonecypher, and brothers Spear Ward, Winston Ward, and Shelton Ward. 

Survivors include daughter Anita Crane of Cornelia, brother and sister in law Clifton and Sandra Ward of Baldwin, sisters and brothers in law Wanice and Richard Dalton of Demorest, Annice and Gene Anderson of Sautee, Leatrice and Leonard Cohen of Cornelia, and Janice Ward and Tom Dunkin of Cornelia, grandchildren Jennifer Ward of Cornelia, Kelli Brookshire (fiancé Chad Dyer) of Hollywood, Josh Banks of Cornelia, and Sarah Banks of Atlanta, and great grandchildren Grace Ward, Conner Brookshire, and Isabelle Dyer. 

No public services will be held at this time.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Circle of Hope, P.O. Box 833, Cornelia, GA 30531.
