Evelyn Lucille Thompson Cassity

Mrs. Evelyn Lucille Thompson Cassity, age 93 of Braselton, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at New Horizon’s Lanier Park Nursing Home following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Sam Parsons will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5 - 7 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Cassity was born February 5, 1922 in Higbee, Missouri to the late Willie Columbus Thompson and Nannie Mae Newton Thompson.  She served in the U.S. Army with the Army Nurses Corp and was retired from Georgia Mental Health Center as a Registered Nurse.  Evelyn was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Woodie Cassity, Jr., a baby brother, her brother, William Thompson and her sister, Juanita Smith.

            Mrs. Cassity is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Linda Cassity of Gainesville, her daughter & son-in-law, Colleen & Scotty Jennings of Gainesville, brothers & sisters-in-law, John & Mae Thompson of California and Frank & Alice Thompson of Texas, sister, Lillie Pendegraft of Missouri, 3 grandchildren, Lara, April and Whitney and 4 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Matthew, Connor and Kendall.
