Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday December 17, 2015 at Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Farris Lee Thomas, age 85 of Cumming. The Rev. Keith Truelove and Rev. Thurmond Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Thomas passed away Sunday December 13, 2015.
Mr. Thomas was born in Forsyth County and raised by the late Clyde Thomas and Cara Hammond Thomas. He had worked in the manufacturing industry and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Louise Bennett Thomas and brother, Lynn Thomas.
Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and David Greenwood, Cleveland, GA, Peggy and Freddie Gilstrap, Murrayville, grandson and wife, David and Casey Chastain, Gainesville, granddaughters, Stacey Stephens, Kristie Elrod, Gainesville, great grandchildren, Gracee Chastain, Blake Chastain, Morgan Wright, Levi Wright, Miranda Elrod, Amber Webb, Blake Webb, Matthew Webb and brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Thelma Thomas, Ellijay, GA.
