Coleman Jarrard

Coleman Jarrard, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 15, 2015. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice.  He is also survived by his children, Jeff Jarrard (Cindy), Brett Jarrard, and Joi Lynn Woods (Tim).  He was also the proud grandpa of 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He has one surviving brother, Joe Jarrard. 

He was pre-deceased by a son Chris Jarrard, his parents, John Alley and Emma Jarrard, and three sisters, Jewell Luster, Lois Turpin, and Mervyn Justus.

Coleman began his career in the Air Force, serving 21 years, before retiring and returning to his native Rabun County.  Coleman was one of the first original County Commissioners.  He served as Commissioner for nine years.  Soon thereafter he started his paving business, Pool Creek Paving.  He retired from his paving business after seventeen years.

Coleman loved his family dearly.  He loved his church, Battle Branch Church, and his church family.  He enjoyed visiting folks and talking about politics.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Beck Funeral Home.  The funeral will be a 2 PM, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Battle Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating.  Interment will be at the Godfrey Cemetery.
