Marie Joyce McLeod McCall

Marie Joyce McLeod McCall, age 82, died Sunday, December 20^th, 2015.

Joyce faithfully served the people in Rockdale County for many years retiring from the Tax Commissioner's office in 1995.

Preceded in death by her parents Duma and Gerelda McLeod, sisters Evelyn McLeod and Jane O’Conner.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, JD McCall; daughter Delynn Montgomery and her husband Mike of Conyers; sons Joe McCall of Gainesville, Ga; and Ken McCall and his wife Penny also of Gainesville, GA; and Belinda Dale.

Grandchildren; Kristen and Beau Davidson of Kansas City, MO; Brittany McCall of Atlanta, GA; Megan and Robert Elliott of Opelika, AL; Asa Montgomery of Conyers; Madelyn Montgomery also of Conyers and Rachel Suska.

Great Grandchildren; Titus, Jude, and Lillian Elliott and Kael Micah Davidson.

Siblings Virginia Perteet and her husband Charles of Tiger, GA; Sue Tyler and her husband Jesse of Tucker, GA; brothers Wayne McLeod of Buford, GA; and John McLeod and his wife Glenda of Stone Mountain, GA.

The joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for her family showed on the walls of her home where pictures upon pictures of her most prized possessions were displayed. Her joy was complete when family and friends gathered at the lake where she could tend both her family and her flower gardens. Both thrived under her patient love and encouragement. You could catch her skiing across the lake at 72 years old, but you wouldn’t dare stop her because, though she was little, she was certainly fierce. Friends and family alike would leave filled to the brim with love and Rotel dip, and the sweet memories of a woman whose style was as bright and sparkly as she was.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 O’clock, Sunday December 27 at Lavonia First Baptist Church, 5681 Vickery Street in Lavonia, GA.
