Betty Ann “Big Gal” Jones

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Betty Ann “Big Gal” Jones, age 70, of Commerce, who passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Mrs. Jones was born in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Luke and Lubelle Satterfield Gaines. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and worked in the poultry business. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Jones, her son, Henry Jones and several Brothers and Sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald Jones and his wife Barbara of Commerce, James Jones, of Commerce, brothers, Rudolph Gaines of Nicholson, Clyde Gaines of Maysville, sister, Nellie Faye Lee of Jefferson; and grandchildren, Gabriel Jones and Chris Jones.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Smith and Rev. Shannon Owens officiating. The burial will follow in the Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Gerald Jones, Scott Atha, Harold Gaines, Michael Gaines, Casey Gray, Joshua Gaines and Gabriel Jones honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm at Evans Funeral Home.
