Mary Helen Sims, age 76 of Gillsville, GA passed away Wednesday January 06, 2016.
Mrs. Sims was the daughter of the late Paul and Imogene Baugh Wilson. She and her husband owned and operated Sims Pottery in Gillsville, GA, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA.
Survivors include husband, Eugene “Gene” Sims of the residence; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Lisa Sims, Lula, Barry and Della Sims, Gillsville, Stacey and Tabitha Sims, Gillsville; 2 sisters, Pauline Parks, Maysville, Barbara Wofford, Jefferson; grandchildren, Christopher Sims, Corey Sims, Benjamin Sims, Holly Sims Kennell, Kayla Sims, Tiffany Sims; great-grandchildren, Luke Goodrum, Skyler Goodrum, Nevaeh Sims, Hunter Sims, and Savannah Sims.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday January 09, 2016 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Dye and Rev. David Harbin officiating. The body will lie in state 30 min. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Jamie Smith officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday January 08, 2016 at the funeral home.
