Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Cheryl Lynn Goerke, age 59 of Cleveland. Cheryl passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Memorial services are planned for 2:00pm, Sunday, January 17, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Ty Hardigree officiating. Cheryl was born in Hammond, Indiana on October 14, 1956 to the late Edward Lee Davenport Sr. and Betty Jean Johnson Davenport. Cheryl worked as a cook in various resturants over the years and had lived in Dawsonville before moving to White County in 1998. In addition to her parents, Cheryl is preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Stephens and her brother, Edward Lee Davenport Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Goerke, Cleveland; daughters, Tammy Roberts (Mickey) of Cleveland,Andrea Harris(Terry) of Cleveland and Brenda Grimes of Cleveland; sons, Glenn Ronald Goerke of Cleveland and Terry Carpenter of Kentucky; grandchildren include Christopher Austin Harris, Glen Garner, Bobby and James Stephens ,Hannah Goerke, Becca and Lauren Ray.
