Alma Helen Fain Anderson

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Alma Helen Fain Anderson, age 82 of Cleveland. Helen was born in White County on May 17, 1933 to the late Thomas N. Fain Sr. and Louvine Adams Fain. She graduated Nacoochee High School and worked at Ames Textile for a brief period. In 1960, she moved to Atlanta and found employment with what was then the Bell Telephone Company, later known as AT&T. She would would enjoy a career that would span almost thirty years. Retiring in 1989, she spent her time with her late husband, Fred Anderson. Helen enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with her seven brothers and sisters, being an aunt to her nieces and nephews all of whom held a special place in her heart. In 1996, her husband Fred succumbed to cancer, it then that she moved to Cleveland. It was not unusual to stop by her house and find her enjoying her favorite candy bar (Snickers) and listening to Gospel Music, all the while working on a wordsearch puzzle, perfectly content with a smile on her face. Helen will always be remembered for her ability to see the good in people and situations, always advising with that same simple faith in people and she had in God. In addition to her husband and her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Stewart, Ora Pearl Alexander and brother, William L.Fain. Survivors include her sister, Opal Beavers of Atlanta, brothers, Thomas N. Fain Jr. of Habersham; Watson Fain (Linda) of Duluth, and Herbert Fain of Cleveland. She is also survived by her ten nieces and nephews. The family would like to  thank the staff and residents for Friendship Healthcare in Cleveland for their sincere attention, compassion and the their level of care during her sickness, also the nurses and medical director of Pruitt Hospice, especially Gwen, Stephanie and Dr. Nancy Watson for their unwavering time, compassion, care and concern. Flowers will be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to Pruitt Cares Foundation, 1626 Jeurgens Court, Norcross, Georgia 30093.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Phillip Robinson and Rev. Danny Jarrard  officiating.
