Ryan Petit, age 12, of Braselton passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Father Eric Hill will officiate. The family will receive friends at Prince of Peace from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Ryan, a student at Jones Middle School and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, was born June 8, 2003 in Tallahassee, Florida to Rex & Julie Petit. Ryan had a smile that would light up your heart. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his adoring sisters, mom and dad. Ryan loved swimming, hiking on his dad's shoulders, being strolled through water fountains, Spongebob, time at the beach and taking pictures with all of the characters at Universal Studios. Although his time here was short, his impact on all who knew him is immeasurable. His smile and laugh was the definition of true joy and love. The light that he brought with him everywhere he went will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ryan is now home with his heavenly father completely healed from his earthly limitations.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Rex & Julie Petit; sisters, Hannah Petit, Camryn Petit and Marisa Petit; maternal grandmother, Maxine Burton of Gainesville; paternal grandmother, Miriam Petit of Niceville, Florida; 17 aunts and uncles; and 23 cousins.
