Rev. Herbert Clifton Youngblood, age 97, of Cumming, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 29th, 2016. He was born and raised in Forsyth County to the late Hershel and Velvie Youngblood. While living in Cumming, GA, Herbert was called to be a minister of the gospel and served in the calling for more than sixty years, pastoring many churches. He was an active member of Shady Grave Baptist Church in Cumming. Rev. Youngblood will be missed dearly and will be remember as a great father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first and second wife, Jasolene Phillips Youngblood and Winnell Timms Youngblood; son-in-law, Charles Day; and brothers, Robert and Ralph Youngblood.
He is survived by his children, Edwin (Jimmie) Youngblood of Lilburn and Mary Day of Cumming; sister, Cornen Thornton of Free Home; grandchildren, Ann (Mike) Gravitt of Cumming, Sally (Brian) Martin of Cumming and David Youngblood of Hawaii; great grandchildren, Andrew (Taylor) Gravitt of Cumming, Molly Gravitt, Tyler and Hunter Martin all of Cumming; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 1st, at 1:00 PM, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Henderson, Rev. Danny Orr and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31st, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and on Monday, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
