Dorothy (Dot) Griffin Westmoreland

Dorothy “Dot” Griffin Westmoreland, age 84, of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016.

Mrs. Westmoreland was born May 6, 1931 in Demorest, GA to the late J.B. Griffin and Bessie York Mize. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, and was a retired Food Service Technician with the Habersham County Board of Education with 28 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Westmoreland and son, Stanley Westmoreland.

Mrs. Westmoreland is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Michael Rogers of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Melissa Parker and her husband, Jeff, Joshua Vandiver; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Jacob Parker.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin, with Dr. James Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the funeral home.
