John W. Grant

John W. Grant, 83, of Gainesville, died Friday March 4, 2016 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton.

Born in Jackson County, Mr. Grant had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Doyle W. and Ida S. Grant.  He was a mechanic at Chicopee Manufacturing Company and also worked at J & J Foods before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Aline J. Grant; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry O. Berry; grandson and wife, Jason and Cindy Berry; great grandson and wife, Andrew and Amanda Berry; great granddaughters, Kayla Berry and Kayla Forrester.

Mr. Grant is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Wendy Berry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 7, 2015 in the Hillside Chapel. Rev. Ralph O. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday March 6, 2016 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.
