Mary Lou Propes Parker

Mary Lou Propes Parker, 82, of Mountain City passed away March 15, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mary was born in Anderson South Carolina in 1933 and was the daughter of Mary H. Propes and Fred J. Propes, and was raised by her uncle, Joseph H Yates and aunt, Mattie N Yates.

Mary loved attending church at the First Assembly of God of Clayton. She also enjoyed singing in church. She loved being with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had a kind, compassionate, caring heart.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilburn Parker; the siblings with whom she was raised, Carmel Yates, Jack Yates, Mattie Yates Reed, Carol Jean Yates. She was also preceded in death by other siblings in the Propes family.

Mary is survived by two daughters Donna Speed and husband Boyce of Tiger, Georgia, Carol J Parker of Mountain City, Georgia; one granddaughter Wendy Mullis and husband Travis; three great-grandchildren Chaz Mullis, Maddie Mullis, and Jared Mullis; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Beck Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Houston officiating.
