John Oscar Anderson, Jr.

John Oscar Anderson, Jr., age 87, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Mr. Anderson was born in Cornelia, GA on September 16, 1928 to the late Rev. John Oscar, Sr. and Mae Jones Anderson. He was a member of Return Baptist Church and was owner/operator of Anderson’s Body Shop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Anderson of Toccoa; and sister, Hazel Anderson Wood of Clarkesville.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Lucille Wood Anderson of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy Anderson and Skip Wheeler of Demorest, Jill Anderson and DeRay Fincher of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, James Ronald and Faye Anderson of Clarkesville; brother, Kenneth Rex Anderson of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Rodney and Matthew Anderson, and Scott, Justin and Adam Wheeler; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March, 29, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home North Chapel in Demorest, with Rev. Anthony Shore and Rev. Tony Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Return Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at the funeral home.
