Dorothy Belle House Marlowe

Mrs. Dorothy Belle House Marlowe, age 88 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her residence following a period of declining health.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Michael William and Reverend Stephen Wood will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs.  Marlowe was born October 19, 1927 in Winder, Georgia to the late Dewey Hobson House and Dessar Delay House.  She retired from Sears, where she worked for 25 years and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.  Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandma and friend.  She will be missed by all.  Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George W. Marlowe, Jr., sisters, Ruth Tanner, Lois Kinsey, Francis Chandler, brother, Aubrey House and grandson-in-law, James Dills.

            Mrs. Marlowe is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Ronnie Staton of Gainesville, granddaughter, Julie Staton Dills of Buford, grandson & wife, Michael & Krista Staton of Chula, great-granddaughter, Emily Staton of Chula, great-grandsons, Aaron Staton of Chula and Jeb Dills of Buford, sister, Deweylene Swords of Winder and several nieces and nephews.

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2520 Mountain View Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 or Eagle Ranch, P. O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502.
