Toni (Tonita) McCorminck Lesser

Obituary Date: Monday, March 28, 2016

Toni (Tonita) McCormick Lesser passed away on March 24th, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she entered Heavens Gates. Toni was born on October 5, 1943 in Aguadulce, Panama to the late Tomas and Delores Benero.

Toni enjoyed and had a calling in Education. She worked for many years as an elementary school secretary in Arizona and Texas. After moving to Georgia in 1981, she began working for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She was privileged to have worked for many outstanding Principals in several different elementary schools as the Administrative Assistant. She also worked for many years at the County Office in the Human Resource Department. She retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools after 31 wonderful years!

Toni lived life in a big way! She was passionate about her family and friends and never met a stranger. All that knew her would say, “She was the life of a party, vibrant, classy and lived with her cup half full!” She was an adventurer who loved to travel and enjoy the world around her. She was quite the athlete and enjoyed many years of tennis, golf and could tear up a dance floor! Toni had the heart of an artist and a creative mind that was contagious in how she lived her life. She lived her life for the Lord and was a true example of what a Proverbs 31 woman is: “She is Clothed in Strength and Dignity, and she Laughs without Fear of the Future. When she Speaks, her Words are Wise, and she gives Instructions with Kindness.”

Toni adored her family with all her heart. She was incredibly blessed with her loving and caring husband and his two wonderful children. She poured her love into her two children’s lives without ceasing. She was a proud and very involved Nana to her seven beautiful grandchildren and one great grandson. Her family would say she was the “heartbeat and core” of who they were and made sure that they loved, shared and took a great deal of time with one another as this was so valuable to her.

Toni leaves behind her husband Mark Lesser: her son, Shawn McCormick : daughter Kelli McCormick Eisler and son in law Joel Eisler : step children: Karrie and Kyle Lesser: grandchildren, Kachelle Gras and husband Pablo Gras, James McCormick, Shawn O’Toole, Heather O’Toole, Brandon O’Toole, Kevin O’Toole, Connor O’Toole: great-grandson, Julian Gras: brother, Tom Benero and wife Aida Benero,: Sisters, Annie Montoya and husband Javier Montoya, Wendy Benero: very close cousin Itzel Fee and husband Steve Fee and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
