Myrtle M. “Nanny” Wright, age 98 of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Myrtle was the oldest of twelve children, born on September 13, 1917 in Dawsonville, GA. She worked many years at the Burlington Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop and Pearlie May Mulkey Tatum; husband, Joe Wright; daughter, Mildred Wright; six brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, Dewey and Shirley Wright, Helen Gaddis, and Shirley Hemmings, all of Dahlonega, brother and sister-in-law, BR and Libby Tatum, Conyers, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Cleveland Miller, Dahlonega, GA; sisters-in-law, Dean Tatum, Monticello, GA, and Totsy Tatum, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Debbie and Jerry Lomax, Tommy, Ronnie and Michael Gaddis, Trisha and Bruce Abercrombie, and Lynn Hemmings; five great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Myrtle are scheduled for 12 Noon Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.
Interment will follow in the McKee’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville, GA.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 3 PM until 8 PM.
