Alan Joseph Meade Jr

Alan Joseph Meade Jr affectionately known as "Big Al" passed peacefully on Saturday April 30th 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 16 1937 in Brooklyn New York to Mary and Alan Joseph Meade Sr.,
Al lived most of his early life in Boston Massachusetts and later in Atlanta Georgia.
He  was a loving and passionate man and his biggest passions were his love for his children and grandchildren, the United States Marines and the Marine Corp League, numerous pets, his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and most importantly his one true love, Karen "KK" Davis.
Al is preceded in death by his father Alan, mother Mary, and brother Paul. He is survived by his beloved Karen Davis, children; Mark (Jenny), Tom ( Kristyn) Shawn (Meghan) Marianne (Toby) Alan (Lori) Shannon (Ricky) grandchildren; Julia, Mike, Lauren, Josh, Evan, Kate, Jackson, Colin, TJ, Zachary, Lindsey, and Rebecca ; sister, Agnes Doherty, brothers;  John (Janice)and Mike (Loretta)Meade, sister in law Maureen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass to be held 11:00 a.m. ,Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church 3740 Holzclaw Road,  Cumming Georgia 30041.
Viewing will be held Wednesday May 4th 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. Byars Funeral Home 155 Professional Park Drive Cumming Georgia 30040. Just as Al requested food and libations will be provided for all to enjoy. Veteran’s graveside service immediately following at Georgia National Cemetery 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114.
