James (Jim) Edward Webb

James E. (Jim) Webb, 78, of Gainesville, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Friday, May 13, 2016.
Jim was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 27, 1938 to Paul A. Webb, Sr. and Leila Whitmire Webb. He was a graduate of West Fulton High School and attended Georgia Tech, Truett McConnell College, Mercer University and Woodrow Wilson School of Law. He served as Captain in the United States Air Force. Jim worked for Cobb County Government and was a Real Estate Attorney.
Jim was an active member at Central Baptist Church. He was a Royal Arch Mason, a member of the Gainesville #219 Masonic Lodge.
Jim, deeply dedicated to his Lord, held leadership positions at various churches through the years, including teacher, College/Career Co-Director, Senior Adult Co-Director and avid choir member. He was community-minded, having been a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Smyrna Historical Society, and served several terms as PTA Co-President. He enjoyed his family, friends, music and was a prolific journalist
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margie Allison Webb; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorrie and John Freeman and Vicki and Pete Schemm; grandchildren, Timothy and Daniel Freeman and Charis, Colby, Jacob, Zachary, Parker, Anderson, Katy and Chase Schemm; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Arlene Webb; nieces Cyndi (Gary) Richie and Leslie Webb.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Central Baptist Church, 785 Main St, SW, Gainesville, GA. The Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Ward’s Funeral Home, 758 Main St, SW, Gainesville, GA on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.
