David G. Owens

Mr. David “Dave” G. Owens, age 60, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2016 surrounded by his family following an extended illness.

Born on June 30, 1955 in Sheridan, Wyoming, he was he the son of the late Ruth Norum Owens and the late David Ora Owens. He was the owner of D and J Services and was involved in the heating and air conditioning field. Dave was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA. He served his country in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Ann Biddy.

Surviving is his wife, Joyce S. Owens of Gainesville, GA, step daughters and sons-in-law Connie and Rodney Garrett of Gainesville, GA and Marie and Rodney Gillam of Gainesville GA, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother and sister-in-law Robert “Bob” and Patricia Owens of Murrayville, GA, niece and nephew Suzie and Chris Windsor, one great niece and one great nephew of Breckenridge, CO.

Visitation is scheduled from 1 pm until 3 pm on Friday, June 3, 2016. The memorial service will be at 3 pm in the chapel of Hillside Chapel Funeral Home.
